Our story
Born from a need that already existed.
Many Roots Collective didn't start with a mission statement. It started with a feeling — that there were people in Citrus County quietly questioning, quietly leaving, quietly wondering if anyone else felt the same way.
Why we exist.
For many people in this region, faith wasn't just a belief — it was family, culture, and community all at once. Stepping away from it can feel like losing everything that held you together.
Many Roots Collective was founded to fill that gap. We are a space where your story is welcome, your questions are valid, and your roots — wherever they come from — are honored.
We don't ask you to leave your past behind. We ask you to bring it with you. The name says it all: we come from many different places, many different traditions, many different journeys. That's not a problem to solve. It's the whole point.
We are proudly LGBTQIA+ affirming. We are committed to being a space where every identity is welcome, respected, and celebrated — not just tolerated.
Who we are.
We are atheists, agnostics, humanists, skeptics, and people who don't have a label yet. We are former Catholics, former Baptists, former Evangelicals, former everything. We are people who grew up in faith and people who never had it. We are people who are still figuring it out.
We serve Citrus County and the surrounding region — Hernando, Marion, Sumter, and Levy counties.
What we stand on
Reason
We follow evidence and honest inquiry wherever they lead — without apology.
Respect
Every person here deserves dignity, regardless of where they started or where they are now.
Community
We show up for each other — in the good times and the hard ones.
Compassion
We lead with empathy, not argument. Curiosity, not judgment.
The people behind it.
Many Roots Collective is volunteer-run by members of the community. We don't have a hierarchy — just people who care enough to show up and make things happen.

Rooted in Citrus County.
We meet in and around Citrus County, Florida — a place with deep roots of its own. Springs, oaks, and a community that's more curious than it might seem from the outside.
